Games people play…and don’t.

There has been a recent kerfuffle about a release of a gaming product that has touched a nerve in me. Now, most of my posts are about writing, and projects, and fun stuff, but this one is going to border on the P word…Yes… Political…

So, trigger warning…  This will be my opinion. Since this is my blog, that’s all it is… my opinion.  If you don’t like it, feel free to say so….or not.

Because that is what this post is about, sort of.

Freedom of speech is a strange thing.  Some people think Freedom of Speech means “You have to listen to my opinion.” This is, of course, nonsense.  The problem rises when people with this notion write reviews on sites that sell products they *think* insult their delicate sensibilities in some way. Unfortunately, there are a few groups out there which are very organized in their defamation of any product which infringes upon their cis-male viewpoint of what SFF should be.

Also, unfortunately, there is no way to tell these organized people to STFU.

I will, however, say this: If you don’t like a product for the express purpose that it displays a secondary optional character who states in one line, also optional, that this character is transgender, state that clearly in your review of that product.  Don’t simply say “This is not good” or “This is not traditional” or other vague terms that mean nothing. Show us your bigotry and narrow mindedness up front. Be proud of it! Let us all know why you don’t like this product!  Please!

Like turning on a light in the kitchen, truth shows us where the cockroaches are…

Oh, and just, please, STFU.

I’m off my soapbox now…please return to your regularly scheduled SFF programming.
